STEPHANIE COOPER HERDMAN, the firm's
managing partner, is originally from southern West Virginia, attended
college in London, England, UK after her graduation from high school
in Summersville, West Virginia. She graduated from Fairmont State
College in West Virginia cum laude in three years with a dual bachelors
degree in psychology and business administration. After college, she
attended Ohio Northern University Law School on a Barrister's Scholarship.
Upon graduation, Mrs. Cooper Herdman moved to Las Vegas, Nevada and
commenced her practice with Bell, Christensen and Ashleman, PC in
the civil litigation department. She later became a partner with Miles
& Cooper in Las Vegas, focusing on real estate, commercial litigation
and lender-related legal services. Mrs. Cooper Herdman has performed
numerous jury and bench trials, as well as trials within the Federal
Bankruptcy Court in the District of Nevada. In addition to her work
in real estate, commercial litigation and lender law, she is also
experienced in the insurance defense practice, in which she represents
insured clients in vehicle and homeowner claims, as well as injury-related
asbestos actions pending in Federal multi-district litigation. She
is a member of the State Bar of Nevada, Clark County Bar Association,
United States District Court for the District of Nevada, Order of
the Barristers, Nevada Trial Lawyers Association, American Inns of
Court, Henderson Rotary Club, Nevada Association of Mortgage Brokers,
Commercial Law League, The National List, and Who?s Who in Executives
and Businesses. Mrs. Cooper Herdman volunteers as a mock trial judge
and coach at the University of Nevada Las Vegas College of Law and
at Las Vegas high schools. She has also been a speaker at many commercial
lending, predatory lending practices, Fair Debt and Collection Practices
Act, RESPA, TILA and judgment collection seminars and authored materials
on the same.
LAWRENCE E. CASTLE was previously
an attorney in the Denver law firm of Hopper, Kanouff, Smith, Peryam
& Terry commencing in 1984, and through his professional corporation
was a partner with that firm from 1987 to1990. As a present partner
in the associated firm of Castle, Barrett, Daffin & Frappier in
Denver, Colorado, he is responsible for non-routine foreclosure matters,
title problems and claims, commercial loan foreclosures and deeds-in-lieu
of foreclosure, as well as general real estate law issues.
Mr. Castle received his Bachelor of Arts degree, Phi Beta Kappa, from
Colorado State University in 1976 and his Juris Doctorate, cum laude,
from Southwestern University School of Law, Los Angeles, California
in 1980. In 1981, Mr. Castle received his Masters of Law degree in
taxation from New York University. He is a member of the American
Bar Association, the Real Estate Law and Title, Business Law, and
Tax Law sections of the Colorado Bar Association, and the Tax Law
sections of the California and New Jersey Bar Associations. He was
a member of the counsel of the Taxation section of the Colorado Bar
Association from 1985 to 1988. He practices primarily in the areas
of commercial real estate and lending, tax, franchise, partnership,
corporate, securities and commercial law.

MICHAEL W. CHEN was formerly a
lead bankruptcy assistant with Miles & Cooper, LLP and was employed
with the United States Bankruptcy Court in the District of Nevada.
He obtained his undergraduate degree in history from the University
of California at Berkeley, following which he obtained his law degree
from the University of Arizona Law School. He is a member of the
Nevada State Bar, Arizona State Bar, Clark County Bar Association,
United States District Court for the District of Nevada, Nevada
Federal Bar, Arizona Federal Bar, the American Bar Association and
the R-Crew Racing Team.
MARTY
G. BAKER obtained
his Juris Doctorate from the University of Minnesota Law School in
1995. He received his bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University
with a double major in International Relations and Korean Studies.
He is a member of the Minnesota State Bar, the State Bar of
Nevada, the United States District Court for the District of Nevada,
the Nevada Federal Bar, United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth
Circuit, and is a Nevada Real Estate Licensee.
David Sanders
- David Sanders is a graduate of Northwestern School
of Law of Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon and a graduate
of BYU with a Bachelors Degree in History. David has practiced in
all
areas of law but has vast experience in litigation and trial work
with
an emphasis in construction defect, residential real estate,
contracts, and insurance defense. David was a philosophy professor
and is a member of the ACLU
.Sandy Van
- Sandy Van is a 2007 admittee to the Nevada State Bar. Sandy was
an extern with Justice Nancy Saitta and a teacher with the Nevada
Pro Bono Project. Sandy is a graduate of UNLV Boyd School of Law and
holds a Bachelors Degree in Finance from UNLV. Sandy is a licensed
Nevada realtor and is fluent in Cantonese.
